General Online Store Questions:

  • Why should I buy from Ken's Custom Iron?

  • What is the difference between Quick Tongs and Rapid Tongs?

    Quick Tongs are made from 3/8" thick mild steel and are generally better for forging moderate to larger stock sizes. These tongs come with a 5/16" x 1-1/2" rivet.


    Rapid Tongs are made from of 5/16" thick mild steel, making the tongs lighter and easier to handle when working with smaller stock sizes. These tongs come with a 1/4" x 1" rivet.

  • Can I call you with my order?

    Of course! Our office hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Give us a call  at 320-746-8161 during these hours or leave a message and we'll be happy to take your order over the phone. 

  • Can you tell me about your Loyalty Rewards Program?

  • Can you tell me the status of my order?

    Of course we can! Send us a message with the billing name, email address and date of your order (or your order number if you have it). We will look it up and get back to you as soon as we can.

  • The item I wanted is out of stock. What should I do?

    On the product's page, you will find a small sign-up form to receive notifications when your item is back in stock. If you are unable to find the notification form, let us know and we'd be happy to let you know when that item is restocked. 

  • Do you offer coupons?

    Yes! We release coupons to our email subscribers and followers on social media. Make sure you enter your email address and sign up here (or at the bottom of this page) to be the first to receive these deals and more! Additionally, you can join our Loyalty Rewards Program, which gives you many options to earn points, which can be redeemed for coupons! 

  • Do you offer a Military/Police/First Responder/EMT discount?

    Absolutely! We more than appreciate those who wear the uniform and put their lives on the line. Visit our "We Salute You" page , give us a call ,or send us a message and we'll set you up with a code.

  • I'm an ABANA member. How do I receive my discount?

  • My coupon code or gift certificate is not working. What should I do?

    Send us a message or give us a call at 320-746-8161 and we will be happy to help.

  • I’ve got an idea for a product you should add to your store! How should I submit it?

    That’s great! We'd love to hear from you! Send us a message with your great idea and we will talk it over with our team.


Shipping and Returns:

  • How do I claim the free shipping on my $200+ order?

    Easy! Just use code FREESHIP200 (or click this link) and shipping will automatically be reduced to $0.00. (Sorry, United States address only!) (Free shipping promotion excludes the MZ75 and KZ100 Power Hammers.)

  • Do you offer cheaper shipping options?

    Short answer: No. 

    Long answer: We understand completely that shipping rates are higher than desired. (We, ourselves, have even shied away from purchasing online and presented with high shipping rates.) That being said, we have spent countless hours searching for better and cheaper rates, but due to the weight and size of our metal items, sending them via Flat Rate boxes with the USPS is the cheapest we have found. We like to be honest with all of our prices and rather than raising the price of our products to compensate for shipping rates, we want to give you the ability to know exactly what you’re paying for.  


  • Do you ship internationally?

    Short Answer: Yes

    Long Answer: We do everything we can to cater to fellow blacksmiths around the world, but affordable shipping options for long and heavy items like our tongs are hard to find. Please message us or give us a call to get a shipping quote on the items you’re interested in ordering. Because the rates go up so significantly when shipping outside the United States, several smiths living internationally have chosen to have us ship their order to a friend's address within the U.S. and arrange pick-up from there. Another option for our Canadian customers is to utilize a shipping outlet or US/Canadian delivery service like Montana Shipping Outlet or MyUSaddress.ca

  • How do I return or exchange items?

    All products sold by Ken's Custom Iron, LLC are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

    Online Store Items:

    If you are unhappy with anything you ordered from our online store, it may be returned within one year of purchase. You may choose to receive a refund or exchange it for another product. Visit our returns page here (https://kenscustomiron.myreturnscenter.com/) or contact us for instructions on returning or exchanging your item(s).* Note: Return shipping is not paid for by Ken's Custom Iron under most circumstances. 

    *Unworn, unwashed clothing can be returned for a full refund (NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING) within 30 days of purchase.

    Power Hammers and Control Kits

    When purchasing power hammers or control kits, if you are not completely satisfied after 30 days, we will refund your purchase price. 


  • How will my order be shipped?

    Your order will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a Flat Rate or Flat Rate Regional box. We’ve spent countless hours researching shipping options for our products, but due to the size and weight of the tongs, this is the best route that we have found. The cart will automatically give you the best rate based on your ZIP code.

  • When will my order be shipped?

    We pride ourselves in shipping all orders within one (sometimes two) business days. In most cases, orders placed by 2pm on weekdays will be shipped on the same day. Keep in mind that we are a small family-owned business and we like to celebrate holidays as much as you do, but we will do everything we can to get your order sent out as soon possible!

  • Can I pick up my order to save on shipping costs?

    Absolutely! We want whatever will work best for you. You can place your order online (contact us for the coupon code so you aren't charged for shipping) and note when you'll be stopping by, or just give us a call and shop once you get here. It's always a good idea to check to make sure we'll be available before placing your order, but we'll do our best to make sure someone will be able to help you.  


MZ75 / KZ100 Power Hammers:

  • How much is freight on your KZ100 or MZ75 Power Hammers?

    Great question! There are a few things we need to know in order to give you an accurate quote. Please send us a message or give us a call at 320-746-8161 and we will get some numbers together for you. 

  • What size compressor will I need?

    One of our most-asked questions! It's generally easiest to discuss compressor options over the phone (320-746-8161), but you can also watch our video that goes over the compressors we use for our hammers.

  • Do you offer payment plans for your KZ100 and MZ75 Power Hammers?

    At this time, we do not offer payment options for our Power Hammers. We have, though, had many clients who have worked with their own bank or lenders to work out financing. 

  • What is turnaround time for the KZ100 and MZ75 Power Hammers?

    Build time for a KZ100 or MZ75 varies, but is generally around 8-10 weeks. Contact us to get a better idea on current lead time.
